Color- Oil Pastels and Plant Abstractions
To explore a bit further with color we will use OIL Pastels to create some basic forms using only color. Then we will draw your choice of plant life--- flowers, trees, cactus etc... using oil pastels.
Notes:
- Oil pastels consist of pigment mixed with a non-drying oil and wax binder
- Use "Overhand" grip
- Use a decent amount of pressure, not too much but no too little(practice this before your final piece)
- When blending use Darker colors first then lighter color, you can overlap and layer them
- You can use your finger, a tissue, paper towel or qtip to blend but clean them and the pastels often to avoid "contamination"
Start with some basic forms to get practice with the Oil Pastels-
